Why are your prices so high?

Our prices may seem high but, for the quality we deliver, they're actually not. Our biggest cost is the cost of leather, which is something we do not compromise on. You also have to factor the cost of free international delivery (over $99 USD), free repairs and the sales that we run from time to time. We're also a small business that does not enjoy the same economies of scale that big brands do, but we make up that by putting more care into each product that we make. All things considered, our profit margins are quite reasonable and not high.

What kind of leather do you use?

We mainly use full-grain crazyhorse leather or textured two-tone vegetable-tanned leather in our products. Both types of leather are made from buffalo hides. For details on our leather, including its sourcing and how to care for it, go here.

Isn't leather bad for the environment? What about the animals that have to suffer because of it?

If you prioritize the lives of animals over other factors, making the decision not to buy leather is reasonable. But, it's worth knowing that cattle is not raised for leather production. Bovine leather is a byproduct of the meat and dairy industry. As long as there's beef, there will be hides, and if hides were not used for leather they'd be used for something else (or buried or burnt). According to the Leather Working Group, only 8-10% of the cattle's value is in the hide. So it's not economically viable to raise cattle for leather alone.
Vegan alternatives do not rely on livestock, but they're often harmful to the planet in other ways. They're almost always petro-chemical based (i.e. plastic), even with natural ingredients such as cactus and are not as long lasting as natural leather.

Will the product i receive look exactly like what is shown on the website?

While we try our best to maintain consistency throughout production, you may find some slight difference in the color, pattern and texture of the product you receive due to natural variations from hide to hide, your screen resolution, or the lighting source in the reference picture. No two animal have the same life and this is apparent in their hide. Plus we do not use pigmented on chrome-tanned leather which has a uniform finish. What if the product I receive is defected or I do not like it?

All our products go through a strict quality check before they are shipped. However, if you still find that the product you receive has a defect, you can return it for no cost for an exchange or a refund.
If you do not like the product for any reason other than a defect, you can still return it for an exchange or refund as long as you bear the cost of the return delivery.

Are all your products handmade?

Absolutely. Our experienced craftsmen perform the entire manufacturing process by hand using different tools of the trade. However, the products are not hand stitched aside from some of their smaller components.

How do I take care of my BN product?

To care for your BN product, simply apply a good quality leather wax or conditioner on it every four to five months or as needed. This will hydrate the leather, making it soft and supple, lessen (but not eliminate) the appearance of scratches and scruffs, make the leather more water resistant, and make the leather, overall, more durable. Do you do corporate/bulk orders?

Yes we do! For volume discounts, please share your query at hello@bnbags.com.

Do you make custom products?

Unfortunately, we do not make custom products. Custom products take a long time to prepare due to the sampling required and thus their cost ends up running too high. Being a small team, this also comes at a cost of our regular production.
However, if you would like some small modification done to one of our existing designs, we may be able to cater to that. Get in touch with us at hello@bnbags.com for customization requests before placing your order to see how we can accommodate you.

Do you do custom engraving?

We offer engraving/embossing of names, monograms, etc. on some of our products. If you would like to get a product engraved, leave a note for us at the Cart page or, email us the details before placing your order.
